Yes, you can use both an EtherCAT board and a Parallel IO expansion board at the same time on RC8, RC8A, and RC8A Safe Motion robot controllers.
You can use the following in conjunction with a Parallel I/O board, as the Fieldbus cards are controlling System I/O, and the Parallel card is simply providing additional discrete I/O.
After installing the desired cards, select the appropriate setup in the WinCAPS project and you will see the I/O allocation desired.
