Overview

This procedure needs to be done any time a new VL robot is being setup or you are pairing a different arm with an RC9 controller (replacing an arm). Also, if the following message pops up on the teach pendant the setting data needs to be sent.

(Please send VL initial setting data)

Tools and Parts Needed

 VLA robot arm, RC9 Robot controller and VL initial setting data file (if you do not have this file for your arm please contact your Denso robotics sales representative), Wincaps III (latest version is recommended) on a PC (must be windows 10 or higher) and an Ethernet cable.

Note:
If you are not sure which part number you need or the Robot Arm you own please stop and contact your DENSO Robotics sales representative.

Step by Step Guide

Step 1

Upload or "Receive" the project file from your RC9 controller. Refer to the following article if you are unsure how to do this.

How to connect and "Receive" a new project file from an RC9 controller

Step 2

Open the project file from the controller (It is recommended to keep a backup copy of the original project file)

Step 3

Go to Project -> Import of VL initial setting data...

Step 4

Browse through your files and find the "initial setting data" .xml file that was obtained through your Denso sales representative. It should look similar to this

Step 5

Go to Tool -> Option...

Step 6

Select "Communication" tab and change "Data send setting: VL initial setting data" to "Enable until application is exited"-> Click "OK"

Step 7

Then go to Connect -> Transfer data

Step 8

When the data transfer screen pops up select  Configuration -> VL initial setting data -> Send

Step 9

When the login screen appears enter user name and password
User = Administrator
Password = 1234

Step 10

Confirm the data sending to the controller , select "Yes"

Step 11

If the following message is present on the teach pendant select OK

Step 12

You should get a message on the teach pendant stating you need to reboot the controller. Power the controller down and wait for the notification lights on the outside to go "off" then wait an additional 60 seconds before powering back on (approximately 2.5 minutes). If powering back on too soon it can cause damage to the controller's memory.
After reboot is complete the data sending process is complete.
